How I’m Promoting My Music This Month

colortheory.com

I’m embarrassed.

I haven’t written a music promotion post since August, and not for lack of ideas. I’ve got plenty!

For starters, I want to share my results on Deezer via Feature.fm, take the new Audiokite reports for a spin, and review social media co-marketing platform CoPromote.

I’ve got a good excuse though – I’ve been completely overhauling the way I release music!

Specifically:

  1. A new website
  2. A new bio (professionally written by StoryAmp)
  3. A new photo shoot

All to prepare for a big launch in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned!

With that in mind, I don’t expect to find any serious writing time in the near future. And I’m tired of disappearing for months on end. So I’ve come up with a compromise:

Every month, I’ll send a short email telling you what I’m doing to promote my music.

Interested? Sign up below, or here if that doesn’t work.

Hey friend! Commenting on this particular post is more random-ish than anything. That is, I wanted to say a sincere ‘thank you’ for what you do & put out to us little-guy artists. I haven’t really had any super success from, well, anything. A blog here & there, making a playlist/online station episode every once in a while with a new release. I sometimes allow myself pride in those small victories, that I’m doing what many in their existence will not. Though, often I feel mired in declines & rejection. But still, songwriting & singing exists as so purposeful to me, I SOLDIER ON! Anywho – that you share all of this, give me avenues to attempt & explore, you give me a CHANCE. My friend, it means the world. It’s f-ing ridiculous that you put all this time & effort into putting your experiences & advice out to us. And I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you. Thank you. And thank you.
This may seem like an odd manner of ‘doing good in the world’ … but, to me, you are.
    My best to you.

My pleasure Brian! Thanks for the kind words.

I actually feel a little guilty, since I’ve been lucky to post an article every couple months. Rest assured I feel the same way about small victories in a sea of rejection. Only the most promising ideas get written about here, so you don’t hear about the majority of stuff that never pans out.
